Miserable shopping at the West Side Market.
I’m reading The Geography of Bliss by Eric Weiner. In it, he quotes the philosopher “The measure of a [city] is how well it turns [misery] into something worthwhile.”
Ask around. Are the people you know unhappy? If so, why? According to the studies in Eric’s book, there’s very little correlation between happiness and place.
Yes, Forbes misrepresents Cleveland, but we give that pub crediblity by reacting to and continuing to spread their opininon. Ingore them! It isn’t hard to do if you seek out fellow happy Clevelanders.
I think to myself “Hey. Cleveland ain’t such a miserable place.” Then someone pulls up next to the house, gets out of the car, and takes a piss.
As I mentioned the other day, I’m training for this year’s Film Fest. I figured catching up on Lost would be a good way to do it. I figure 4 or 5 episodes is about the length of a film. How many do you think I could watch in one day? 10? 15?
So since I’ve been asked to blog the fest this year, I’ve been training. The max flicks I can take out from the Euclid Library is 10, so I’ll go and grab a bunch and watch them. When was the last time you watched a trilogy or series?
What else would you do to train for the fest? Queue waiting? Popcorn eating?
